City of Seattle Police and City of Seattle Fire Alerts – Most of the City of Seattle Alerts (above) are issued from the police and fire departments. However, each has their own keep-up-to-date website and social media channels. Do you see a fire and wonder what it is, or hear a ton of sirens and want to know what’s up. Check out Twitter, or the Real-time 911 Dispatch page.

Also sign up for King County alerts, as this covers a larger regional area than Seattle. The King County alert system is called Alert King County. You can get text, email, phone alerts, or set up alerts to come through the app CodeRED.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) – follow them through alerts, social media, or even the WSDOT app. Know where the peak traffic routes and times are on a holiday weekend, or look at the weather and road conditions on the pass through the series of cameras installed and run by WSDOT.

If you work for a large local entity like the University of Washington, Amazon, or Boeing, etc… they may have their own alert system for employees.
